Premier Imaging uses quality, state of the art imaging equipment with highly skilled registered technologists and employ a highly qualified, well respected group of radiologists. Western Missouri Radiological Group staffs our Wornall location with three full-time radiologists daily to provide accurate, efficient diagnosis on all patients. Premier Imaging is able to offer a variety of outpatient imaging studies including: MRI/MRA, CT/CTA, Cardiac Calcium Scoring, Echocardiopgraphy, General, Vascular and Small parts ultrasound, digital mammography, minimally invasive biopsies, patient navigation, digital x-ray and bone densitometry.
Western Missouri Radiological Group is a premier radiological group in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Six board certified radiologists provide focused care for the patients of Premier Imaging. They strive to do the right exam the first time on your patients.The radiologists are available on a daily basis for consultation or questions. |Kenneth M. Alfieri, MD is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. He graduated from New York Medical College and did his residency at Long Island Jewish-Hillsdale Medical Center. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine. He did an additional nuclear medicine fellowship at Harvard Joint Program with Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Additionally, he did a neuroradiology fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Alfieri is a past Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. His expertise includes neuro radiology, cross sectional imaging with an additional focus on CT Coronary Angiography. He performs minimally invasive biopsies and FNA’s.|
|Matthew R. Caterine, MD is a board certified radiologist and specializes in musculoskeletal and body imaging. Dr. Caterine is one of the medical directors for Premier Imaging. He did his undergraduate studies at The University of Notre Dame, graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and did his residency at Methodist Hospital of Indiana. He was the recipient of the Midwest Trainee Investigator Award,
American Federation of Clinical Research in 1994.
|Bethlehem Gelaw, MD is a board certified radiologist with a special emphasis on Women’s Imaging. She attended Duke University School of Medicine and did her residency at University of Pennsylvania. She was Chief Resident while at Temple University. She completed a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Abdominal Imaging and body MRI. Dr. Gelaw is an integral part of the Breast and Women’s Imaging Center at Premier and spends the majority of her time in that department. She is a member and respresentative to The American Association of Women’s Radiologists. She has special training in breast MRI and breast MRI guided biopsy.|
|Stephen R. Kunz, MD is a board certified radiologist with a special competency in mammography. He was instrumental in opening the Breast Center at St. Luke’s and has been instrumental in opening the Premier Breast Center and Women’s Imaging. Dr. Kunz attended Princeton University and graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School. He did his residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He
was previously an internal medicine physician and was Chief of the Department of Family Practice at Medical Center of Indepencence. He has served as past president of the Greater Kansas City Radiological Society. He founded the KC Chapter of the Chron’s and Colitis Society. Dr. Kunz has completed advanced training in CT angiography with an emphasis in CT Coronary Angiography.
|Mark J. Lavin, MD, FACR is a board certified radiologist and specializes in body imaging with a special focus on MRI/MRA. He attended UCLA School of Public Health and graduated Cum Laude. He attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine for radiology and residency, where he was Chief Resident in Radiology. He attended the Univesity of Kansas School of Medicine, and did his intership at LA County-USC Medical Center. He is past president of the Kansas City Radiological Society and the Missouri Radiological Society. He served on the faculty of UMKC where he was Teacher of the Year. Prior to becoming a radiologist, Dr. Lavin was a board certified anesthesiologist and ensures that patients having any type of invasive studies performed are as safe and comfortable as possible during their procedures.|
|Dipak C. Shah, MD is a board certified radiologist and attended medical school and did his residency in Baroda India. When he moved to the United States, Dr. Shah first worked in Dallas, TX. He was a former Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and was voted “Staffman of the Year” by resident physicians at Truman Medical Center. Dr. Shah specializes in advanced ultrasound.|
